Renaissance Festival

Snack Time

This weekend we took a trip to the Renaissance Festival. On Saturday we drove to Conroe and went for a boat ride on Lake Conroe with the Kuglers (Claire, Eric, Lainey and Ben). We met the Greggs (Chris, Christa, Joshua and Samantha) at the hotel, then we all went to Burger Fresh for dinner. Their burger was voted the best in Texas by Texas Monthly.
Sunday we all went to the Renaissance Festival. We watched the Joust (in the French section this time - Duncan was mad that we were not in the section with the same Joust Maiden as last year), shot the bows and ate a bunch of fair food (funnel cake and turkey legs!)

We went trick-or-treating with Mason and his Mom Wendy as well as Tommy and Tuk. Mason was Colt McCoy, so Wendy borrowed my blond wig and went as Colt McCoy's mom. Tommy was a WWII fighter pilot and Tuk was Amelia Earhart - both super authentic costumes. We circled the big block as this was the first year that Duncan could really walk a long way without wanting to be carried - the candy helped motivate. We met a creepy kid along the way who was obsessed with Princess Peach and followed us.

KSW Halloween Party

At the KSW Halloween Party

Halloween morning the KSW studio had a Halloween party. They had some games and a very cool/scary haunted house in the dojang. The boys went in without us, but with some friends. Duncan got so scared he had to be carried out by Sam. We all dressed up in our costumes and won the best group costume trophy! We were Donkey Kong, Mario, Princess Peach, and Luigi.

Neighborhood Halloween Party

Friday night we attended the neighborhood pumpkin parving party. The boys carved their first pumpkins with no help from Mama. Then they went off to play football with the big boys. As predicted, Duncan came over crying because he got hurt. After some lovin', I sent him over to play with the girls where he would not get hurt. He happily went over to the girls and charmed them by helping them carve their pumpkins and generally being his cute self. At the end of the night one of the 12 year old girls gave him her cell phone number! I may have to get him a little black book for his 6th birthday.
