The Eyes of Texas

Please stand up and raise your Hook'em Horns. Xander is going to recite "The Eyes of Texas":

The eyes of Texas are upon you,
All the live long day.
The eyes of Texas are upon you,
You cannot get away.
Do not think you can escape them,
At night, or early in the morn'.
The eyes of Texas are upon you,
'Till Gabriel blows his nose!

Ice Storm 2007!

It started sleeting yesterday morning with temperatures below 30 degrees F, and in Texas that means ice. We all came home by lunchtime. The precipitation continued intermittently all day and all night.

This morning, our driveway was coated in about a 1/4 inch of ice, and our workplaces had already announced closures. So we've been staying inside trying to keep busy and warm. At about 10:45, Tina announced "IT'S SNOWING!" so we all bundled up to go take a firsthand look. The boys enjoyed playing with the icicles and snow, but the bitter cold (and no gloves) beat the novelty, so we went in after a little while.

It's supposed to get worse tonight, then clear up tomorrow. We have enough staples and leftovers for a week, so all we really need to do is figure out how to keep the boys entertained while we wait for the thaw.
