Catch of the day

Xander went to a classmate's birthday party today where he got a chance to go fishing in a pond. At first the fish kept getting away with the bait (bread), but then we found a caterpillar and used that. Sure enough, as soon as we cast, the bobber sank, and Xander landed his first fish!

Pre-K Graduate

Xander had his pre-school graduation ceremony Friday night. It's hard to believe he will be starting kindergarten in the fall already!

The graduation program was very cute: the teachers read from "Oh, the Places You'll Go" and the kids sang some songs and picked up their "diplomas". Afterwards, there was punch and cookies.

Here, Xander is hugging his teacher Ms. Joey.

Now Duncan has heard the Pledge of Allegiance enough that he also has is memorized. He is adorable when he says it! Every time we see an American flag, the boys start reciting the Pledge. They have to be looking at a flag to say the Pledge; however, so if we are driving and the flag passes out of our view, they stop. Duncan wants me to stop on the road (even if we are on a busy highway) so he can finish.

One day we were talking about CareBears when we saw an American flag so we starting reciting the Pledge of Allegiance to CareBears - switching random words of the Pledge to CareBear. This time: liberty and justice for CareBears!
