Craft Project

Craft Project
Originally uploaded by TinaRed
Xander wanted to do a craft project today and he decided he wanted to make teddy bears. So we made bears from scraps I had around the house: left over fleece from Duncan's Halloween costume, old buttons and ribbon. I usually have some fiberfill in my craft stash, but I used the last of it in Jerry's tail, so we just cut open an old pillow we had in the linen closet and pulled out the stuffing to fill the bears.

Can you see Duncan's scabby lip where he hit the pavement when he wiped out on his new bike? His lip is a lot less swollen than it was yesterday.

Duncan is 5 years old

Christmas was good to the boys. Santa brought them new bikes and new helmets. Xander's bike had some quality issues, so we took advantage of Santa's generous return policy and got him a different one that didn't sound like it was going to fall apart when he pedaled it.

We've spent the last few days playing Mario Kart, Guitar Hero World Tour, and riding around.

Shield Fighting

This is how the boys play with the shields Bheesh bought for them at the Ren Faire. They are using big plastic baseball bats because we decided it would be safer than swords.

Renaissance Festival

Renaissance Festival

Duncan and Xander with the Spanish Joust Maiden at the Renaissance Festival. We sat in the Spanish section and cheered the purple and yellow Knight. She had written a poem about how much she liked the Knight's hair and how he would make his enemy's entrails into extrails. I think Duncan had a little crush on the Maiden. He kept wanting to find her and talk to her.

While watching the Joust we ate some typical fair food - turkey leg, a pickle and sausage on a stick.

Grandma & Grandpa Visit

Mini Golfing

When Grandma and Grandpa visited, we went on an adventure to the greenbelt. We hiked around, had a snack and found a dead deer.

Then Grandma and Grandpa took everyone mini golfing at Peter Pan. Here we are contemplating Duncan's shot. After mini golfing, Xander wanted a burger with jalapenos, so we drove down the street to Sandy's. Grandpa could not believe that Xander ate almost the whole burger.
